How Lunivo English handles your data while you practise.
Speaking exercises and your voice
When you do a speaking exercise, Lunivo English records your voice and sends the recording to OpenAI's Whisper service to be turned into text. The recording is used only for that transcription. It is not stored on Lunivo English's servers, and we keep no copy of it after the text comes back.
The transcript — the text we heard — is used to score your answer. Your score and the sentence are saved with the attempt so you can review it later.
What we store
Besides speaking transcripts, we keep the learning data that makes practice work: your attempts and scores, mastery and review schedules, XP, streaks, and the preferences you set on the settings page. Your account is identified by the email and password you signed up with.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your recordings to train models.
Changing your mind
You can turn speaking off at any time on the settings page. While it is off, Lunivo English will not record your voice until you allow it again.
Account deletion and data export are still in progress. When they ship, this page will state exactly what is removed and when.
